About Us

The chorus originally known as Camtown Ladies came into being in May 1982, under the direction of Betty Alyson with a grand total of four members.

By the following July membership had increased to ten, but during the summer break half of that number moved away. A recruiting drive was undertaken by the remaining members, and by September of that year there were 12 members.

Now called County Connection Harmony, many ladies have since come and gone, but numbers are now 38 and we are currently recruiting again for new members to swell this number.

We became members of Sweet Adelines International, a non-profit, world-wide organisation of women singers, committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education and performance.

Our Chorus chartered in 2000 and have since participated in the Quartet of Nations Regional competitions held every year at venues in the UK.

We also have other singing engagements throughout the year at private and public functions. The money we receive from these engagements help towards our costumes and other expenses incurred.

Our standing goals are to bring in new members, create more opportunities to perform, and bring our love of four-part a capella music to the community.
